How many kinds of surface finishing is it?
Common surface finishing is like plating, painting and acid treatment.
1.Plating: The metal used to electroplating on screw surface is, e.g. common zinc, nickel, chromium, copper and so on.
2.Painting: The material used to covering on screw surface is, e.g. Teflon, Dacromet, paint, drop resistant, hot-dip galvanized and so on.
3.Acid treatment: Black Oxide, clean, degreasing, phosphate and so on.
Does stainless steel screws need to plating?
Generally, stainless steel screw does not need to do process plating.
Clean is enough for it. But sometimes based on appearance considerations, there will still be customer requirements to do electroplating.
Which plating can have a better anti-rust result? Zinc or nickel?
Zinc. Although in the procedure of nickel plating, there is a the copper layer as a undercoating on object at first, then to plat a nickel layer cover it. But in fact, when subject to do salt spray testing, the nickel plating can only reach about 3-4 hours, but the zinc plating is able to reach more than 24 hours.
